Babywatch is the original Nanny Cam company. It originated in New York, but William Novotny, one of the founders of the industry, parted ways with Babywatch and took his vision of the industry to Florida, the area of the country with the most nannies per capita. Upon relocating there, he founded what is now Florida Babywatch. Babywatch  gained national attention through the Oprah Show in 1994 when videos revealed some of the horrors that can take place when parents have to entrust others to care for their children. William Novotny, Bill as he is known, continued exposing some of the troubling and inherent problems that come with hiring someone you know little about with appearances on Primetive Live, Dateline NBC, Inside Edition and many others. His goal was and is to stamp out both physical and mental abuse for all children. A former State Trooper, Bill has a strong law enforcement background. As an employee of one of the branches of the federal government, he worked as an intelligence and surveillance specialist.
